Happy Sunday to all! I’ve been away on vacation for the past week or so, so I am about to enter “real life” again. It’s something I am looking forward to yet not so much at the same time. Does that happen to you?
Growing up, I spent the majority of my summers at my parent’s “camp” in Maine. It was just as idyllic as it sounds. Lots of time swimming (torturing my parents with “Marco Polo!”), grilling out or eating pizza from the local Trading Post, and, of course, boating! My family had various kinds of boats throughout the years from ski boats to party barges. And I will cherish all of the memories of zipping up and down that lake as a kid, as a teen, and as an adult.
The “camp” is in the process of being sold, so having a vacay at the camp was a sentimental no brainer. Although my parents no longer have a boat, their friends very kindly took us out for a ride so I could soak in the beauty of the water and stare (and comment) on the homes as we drove past. So. Many. Memories.
As we “set sail,” the sun was shining, but the clouds were slowly rolling in. ⬅ Foreshadowing
The captain with his canine deckhand…or do you call a dog a “deckpaw?”
My adorable dad having a great time (retirement looks so good on him!!)
I would love to say we beat the storm home, but we all ended up under tarps for the last portion of the ride. A downpour is moisturizing, right? <insert winky face>
