The Time I Interviewed Myself

Who Am I?

I’m a food/wine/dog/pun lover that has thought about starting a blog for over 5+ years.  Why has it taken me over 5 years to get my first blog post out into the ether?  Well…

The waiting isn’t the hardest part (RIP, Tom Petty).  It’s the starting. And the finishing.  And the publishing.

Trying to figure out the “how to get a blog going” has been a challenge, to say the least.  There is so much that goes into it and I am JUST posting for the first time.   And I’m sure I’ve made plenty of mistakes with this first post.

I have a day job that keeps me quite busy.  My day job won’t be the “work”-related portion of the blog, though.  I’ll keep that separate from my “blog life”.

You will learn more about me as more posts are published if you decide to stick around for more content (which I hope you do!)

What is Work, Play and Chardonnay?

It’s a blog name that came out of my mouth when I was at…wait for it…a wine bar.  I am always striving to find balance in my work/play life.  I am also striving for a glass of white wine on the daily.  This blog will be all about the work-y, play-y and Chardonnay-y things in my life

Full disclosure, my favorite white wines are Sancerre and Pinot Grigio, but I chose rhyme over reason with the name.  But I do really like Chardonnay!  So much so, that I enjoyed a glass or two last night.

Wine
I love Chardonnay…and Cards Against Humanity.

Why now?

Have you ever had someone in your life provide you with the encouragement you needed to take the proverbial leap?  I bet you have in some way, shape or form.  My encouragement came in the form of an oven mitt branded with “Work, Play and Chardonnay” that was a gift from my best friend.  She’s been nudging me over the years about starting this blog.  Seeing that oven mitt with my blog name on it was exactly what I needed to get WPC off the ground.  And for that…I will be forever grateful.

WPC Oven Mitt
If you give me a mitt, I'll give you a blog.

What’s next?

A blog post every week.  Let’s grab a glass of wine (or your drink of choice) and enjoy Work, Play and Chardonnay together!

May your life be balanced like a scrumptious food and wine pairing!  Thanks for reading!

  1. You made your deadline! I’m really glad that I didn’t set that potholder on fire!

    Sincerely,

    1. Thank you so much! It’s amazing the amount of work that goes into everything but I am super into it. Now if I could conjure up a genie to give me two more hours in a day…

  2. Welcome to the blog world. I think you’ll be amazing at it! All the best blogs start as wine bar/drunken thoughts. Mine did too. And if your real life friends have been nudging you to start, that’s good too. Keep the friend who gave you the blog merch already. Those are good people. 🙂

    1. Lorna! I just hugged you from across the pond! Thank you so much for the kind words! Sometimes wine (or gin & lemonade) and a nudge can just point one in the right direction. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words, Lindsay! I am looking forward to writing more posts and learning about you, as well!

I am great at "talking back", so please comment away.
